Travis Regner (Assistant Coach Temple Men's Soccer)

Travis Regner begins his third season with Temple University under the direction of Head Coach Nick Bochette. Regner brings a wealth of experience to the program after coaching at highly competitive Division I and Division III institutions.

Regner joins the Owls from Philly Soccer Six rival, Villanova University where he acted as the women’s assistant. Regner coached the Wildcats to its first Big East Tournament semifinal game since in 2007. The team recorded the most wins in 10 years going 10-7-3 in the 2019 season.

Prior to Villanova, Regner served at nearby Eastern University as the men’s assistant coach and goalkeeper specialist. The Eagles made three straight MAC Freedom Conference Championship games, clinching the title in 2016 and 2018. In 2016, the Eagles advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament and placed two players on the All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team.

Regner found success yet again in the 2018 season when he led the Eagles to a NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance for the first time in program history. Regner coached three student-athletes to All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team honors with one player earning All-America recognition. Regner and the Eagles coaching staff were voted United Soccer Coaches Mid-Atlantic Coaching Staff of the Year for their efforts.

The start to Regner’s coaching career came at the University of Albany as an undergraduate assistant from 2014-2015 for the men's program. During this time, Coach Bochette was also making a name for himself at Albany. Bochette served as the women's assistant coach before taking over as head coach in 2016. Despite coaching on different sides at Albany, the two have now come together to lead the Owls in the 2021 season.

Regner played collegiate soccer at Tompkins Cortland University in Dryden, N.Y. from 2012-2013. During his time, the Panthers ranked in the Top 10 of the NJCAA national standings.

Regner holds his USSF D License and United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper License.
